Novak's is a staple of Albany and the I-5 corridor--they were in a little tiney hut for 25 years or so, bursting at the seams when open, and have just within the year moved into a much larger place off a wellestablished mall with more parking. Well lit inside and out, more menu selections, more catering/bakery options...we were up for my birthday and fed 3 hungry people on 2 appetizers and 1 main course! Their sausage is amazing (that's what they make on Saturdays, when closed); their meat is always great, whether pork or beef; their veggies are done tender crisp, not mush; salad dressing innovative and tasty; their breads, garlic spreads, etc., are great but not overwhelming; their soups have wonderful broth and seasoning. We were there for my birthday and came away not needing dessert..never in my life...but don't neglect their desserts, whether truffles, tortes, or puddings.
I kinda recommend going up whenever possible....
