For years my mother's friend talked about the cannoli they got at Bruno Bakery as children. When my mother finally made it out to NYC 15 years ago she finally tasted it and has not stopped talking about it since. Last fall I finally took my first trip to NYC. I was there ten days and visited Bruno Bakery about 5 of those days. I tried everything from the Cannoli to the Tiramisu. The cases were full of pasteries like I've never seen in my life. They were all so artistically created one would think they were just for show. My mother told me there was no way I could go to NYC without bringing her back cannoli, so on the last day I bought about 20 cannoli, which suprisingly made a successful plane ride back to Iowa! |
